There are two ways to set up folder redirection:

The debugger helps you find your error, but you can t fix errors here. As you notice at the top of the document window, the file is identified as read-only. You can open another instance of the file in the debugger and edit that file. The debugger provides an editor that is on a par with Notepad.

If you right-click a script in this window, one command appears on the menu: Break At Next Statement. This command provides a way to invite a script into the debugger.

To redirect special folders to one location for everyone in the site, domain, or OU, complete the following steps: 1. Open a GPO linked to the site, domain, or OU containing the users whose special folders you want to redirect to a network location. 2. In User Configuration, open Windows Settings, then double-click the Folder Redi rection node to view the folder you want to redirect. 3. Right-click the folder you want (Application Data, Desktop, My Documents, or Start Menu), and then click Properties. 4. In the Target tab in the Properties dialog box for the redirected folder (see Figure 11-16), in the Setting list, select Basic Redirect Everyone s Folder To The Same Location, and then click Browse.

This window displays the call history to the current point in the current script. This can help you figure out just how you got where you are.

In Windows 2000 Server, there are no selectable options for folder redirection in the target folder location section. Instead, there is only a text box where you can enter the location of the target folder. While Windows Server 2003 still offers the same features, in Windows 2000 you would have to use environment variables such as %Username% or %Userprofile% instead of being able to select from a drop-down list. Keep this in mind if you come across troubleshooting documents written for Windows 2000 folder redirection. You ll see one such example of this in the Troubleshooting Lab of this chapter.

This window allows you to view and manipulate variables in your script. In the following example, the first line printed the value of x. (A question mark is shorthand for the Visual Basic Print command.) Then the value of x was changed to 100 and displayed again.

These additions are what we call language extensions, the set of new language features and syntactic constructs added to C# and VB.NET to support LINQ. All of these extensions require new versions of the C# and VB.NET compilers, but no new IL instructions or changes of the .NET runtime.
